Lizeth Diaz-LedesmaMD, MHA/ED

Dr. Lizeth Diaz Ledesma is a Board-Certified Internist in Binghamton, New York. She received her medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University in 2002.

After graduation from her residency, she had noticed most of the chronic medical issues that caused pain and suffering on our population were complications of obesity, included but not limited to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and even cancer. At the end, they also cause not only physical pain but also stress and depression, perpetuating the cycle. Many of those patients also have chronic pain conditions and end on high doses of narcotics.

A personal tragedy in her life made her see the benefits of medical marijuana in the care of patients with chronic pain, and how it also helped to decrease narcotics and their side effects. After that, she became interested in studying the benefits of medical marijuana in selected patient populations.

Because of that, in an attempt to help our community to prevent obesity related illness and to achieve a healthier life, she decided to offer medical weight loss services and medical marijuana evaluations to our community in the Southern Tiers NY/PA.
