Medical Assisted Weight Loss
Many people are dealing with complications associated with their weight. If diet and exercise had not given yet the desired results, prescription weight loss medication may be an option for you. It is typically considered for adults with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30 who are struggling with obesity, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
Most weight loss occurs within the first 6 months of starting the weight loss medication. The time it takes for each patient to see results can vary significantly depending on your health, exercise, and nutrition. Keep in mind, medications help as far as there is a complete life style modification. They do not replace diet and exercise. If you are willing to compromise on it, we are here to help you. The idea is to identify what is preventing each patient to achieve his/her goal and work together to resolve it.
The choice of medications and duration of treatment will be customized to the patient needs. If a patient does not lose at least 5% of the starting body weight after 12 weeks on the full dose of your medication, we will work with you to discuss modifying your diet or treatment. Once the patient has lost enough weight to improve his/her health and haven’t had serious side effects, we will decide if pharmacological treatment needs to be continue or stop taking the medication.
